## Summary

**Evaluating remote monitoring for people prescribed opioids.** This bill would require the Comptroller General to study how remote monitoring is used for individuals prescribed opioids and to report evidence, prevalence, and recommendations to Congress within 18 months. - Patients and families: The report would assess whether remote monitoring improves outcomes, lowers costs, and identify which patient groups stand to benefit most. - Policymakers and federal health programs: Congress would get recommendations to improve availability, access, and coverage, including suggested changes to federal health care programs as defined in section 1128B of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1320a-7b). - Clinicians, insurers, and researchers: The study would document current use, including international examples, and provide evidence to guide coverage decisions and future research.
