## Summary

**Expands and extends lifespan respite care** by broadening who counts as a family caregiver and renewing program authorization through 2029. The bill would replace the phrase "unpaid adult" with "unpaid individual" in Section 2901(5) of the Public Health Service Act and update the funding authorization to cover fiscal years 2025 through 2029. - Families and caregivers: More unpaid individuals could be recognized as family caregivers for the program, which may widen who can be served. - Service providers and grant programs: Lifespan respite grants and programs would have authorized federal funding through FY2025–FY2029, replacing the prior 2020–2024 authorization.
