## Summary

**Emergency generator credit for disaster-hit homeowners**. The POWER Act of 2025 would create a nonrefundable tax credit to help residents in areas hit by multiple major disasters buy emergency generators. - Homeowners who live in a principal residence located in an area with two or more covered major disasters in the previous five years and who received individual assistance under the Stafford Act could claim up to $500 for a generator purchase. - The credit phases out by $100 for every $25,000 of modified adjusted gross income above $300,000 for joint filers and $150,000 for other filers. - The credit is nonrefundable and only applies to generators purchased within two years after enactment.
