## Summary

**Creates a new Nitrate and Arsenic Reduction Grant Program to fund projects that lower arsenic and nitrate in drinking water.** It directs grants toward disadvantaged communities, low-income households, and water systems serving children and other vulnerable populations. - Low-income homeowners and landlords who house low-income renters get first priority to purchase and install treatment technology that reduces contaminants at the tap. - Community water systems, qualifying nonprofit organizations, municipalities, States, interstate agencies, and small nontransient noncommunity systems can apply but must identify the contamination source and explain how the project will meaningfully reduce nitrate or arsenic concentrations. - Grants prioritize disadvantaged communities based on State affordability rules and systems that lacked compliance with nitrate or arsenic limits in the prior 3 years or that serve children or other vulnerable groups. The Environmental Protection Agency Administrator must review program equity and consider underserved populations. *This bill would increase federal spending by $15 million per year starting in fiscal year 2026, subject to appropriations.*
