## Summary

**Removes local parking minimums near transit.** This bill gives property owners sole discretion to decide how many automobile parking spots to provide for certain new or substantially reconstructed residential, retail, commercial, or industrial structures located not more than 0.5 miles from a covered public transit point. - Developers and property owners: Owners alone determine parking counts for qualifying new or substantially reconstructed projects that are in or affect interstate or foreign commerce and are sited within 0.5 miles of a covered public transit point. - State and local governments: Any State or local law, regulation, or requirement that is inconsistent with this rule is preempted to the extent of that inconsistency. - Which sites qualify: A "covered public transit point" generally means a fixed guideway stop. A passenger ferry point qualifies only if also served by another transit mode. A bus point qualifies only if it intersects two or more bus routes with service intervals of not more than 15 minutes during morning and afternoon peak periods.
