## Summary

**Sets nonbinding national mold standards and funds state and tribal programs to assess and remediate indoor mold.** This bill would direct the EPA to commission a National Academies study, issue national guidance on when and how to assess and remediate indoor mold, and create grant programs to build licensing systems and pay for mold cleanup. - Families and households: Helps pay to assess and clean mold in government buildings (including schools) and in severely impacted private homes. Grants may cover temporary housing for up to 6 months for people who lack insurance and sufficient resources. - State and Tribal governments and local programs: Provides grants to establish and operate licensing programs for mold assessors and remediators, plus technical assistance and training, with preference for areas highly susceptible to mold. Authorizes $50 million per year for FY2026–2030 for this licensing assistance program. - Low-income and program limits: Prioritizes remediation in low-income housing and communities, requires at least 20 percent of yearly funds go to government-owned buildings and at least 20 percent to private residential properties, and caps the federal share at 60 percent in any fiscal year. *Would authorize $50 million per year for each of the two grant streams from FY2026 through FY2030, about $100 million per year overall, increasing federal spending during those years.*
