## Summary

**Expands access to voting by mail by requiring states to mail ballots to registered voters at least 14 days before federal elections.** The bill would also require free postage for mailed federal ballots and set up automatic voter registration at state motor vehicle agencies. - Voters and households: States would have to mail ballots to registered voters not later than 14 days before a federal election. Voters could send completed federal ballots postage free. - Voters with disabilities: All mail ballots covered by the bill must be accessible so people with disabilities can vote privately and independently like other voters. - People who use motor vehicle agencies and election officials: Driver’s license forms must include a federal voter registration option and the bill would trigger automatic registration when applicants demonstrate U.S. citizenship. Motor vehicle authorities must transmit registration data to election officials within 10 days or within 5 days when it is very close to the registration deadline.
