## Summary

**Bans vessel anchoring on a defined stretch of the Hudson River unless it occurs within anchorage grounds established before January 1, 2021.** It would amend Section 8437 of the William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 to insert the new prohibition and to reorganize the section's subsections. - Boat owners and operators would be barred from anchoring on the specified Hudson River reach except inside anchorage grounds that existed before January 1, 2021. - The Coast Guard Commandant would be directed to prohibit anchoring outside those pre-2021 anchorage grounds and carry out the operational effect of the ban. - The bill rewrites the statute by adding the prohibition as a new subsection (c), renumbering existing material, and striking the prior subsections (d) and (e).
