## Summary

**Designating certain border-area airports as ports of entry.** This bill would direct the President to designate qualifying airports and to end the user fee requirement under section 236 of the Trade and Tariff Act of 1984 for those airports. - Airport operators and local governments: Primary airports within 30 miles of the northern or southern land border that are formally linked to a nearby land border crossing or seaport and that meet four statutory criteria could be designated a port of entry and would no longer face the Trade and Tariff Act user fee. - Federal authorities and customs operations: The President would make these designations under authority from the Act of August 1, 1914 and the airports must meet the numerical criteria U.S. Customs and Border Protection uses for establishing ports of entry as set in Treasury Decisions.
