## Summary

**Creates free counseling for the next of kin and former volunteer caregivers of veterans who die by suicide.** This bill would require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide at-no-cost counseling when services are reasonably accessible and match or exceed similar VA services. The VA could contract with federal, state, or private groups and pay them for delivering care. The law would define who counts as next of kin and a former volunteer caregiver and requires the program to begin within 90 days of enactment.
