## Summary

**Grants for youth gun violence prevention** would let the Attorney General fund community-led programs that focus on healing, mentorship, mental health access, and firearm safety for young people at highest risk of being harmed or engaging in violence. - Young people and families: Programs must be evidence-informed, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and developmentally inclusive. They can offer counseling, mentoring, conflict-management skills, safe-storage education, and supports for reintegration after exposure to violence or juvenile justice involvement. - Community groups, tribes, and colleges: Eligible applicants include institutions of higher education, Indian Tribe government agencies, nonprofit community-based organizations, certain national intermediaries, and local government agencies that are not law enforcement. - Funding and timeline: Of juvenile-justice appropriations for each fiscal year 2026–2029, $100 million would be made available for Title V grants, and $25 million of that amount would be set aside each year to carry out the youth gun violence prevention program. *Directs $25 million per year from FY2026 through FY2030 from juvenile justice grant funds to the youth gun violence prevention program.*
