## Summary

**Protecting U.S. online companies from discriminatory South Korean digital rules.** This bill would direct USTR to spot and respond when South Korean laws or enforcement target U.S. digital platforms and private firms. - U.S. online and digital platform operators: Would require the U.S. Trade Representative to report within 30 days after any South Korean law or regulation that predesignates or post-estimates a U.S. platform and imposes discriminatory restrictions. The report must decide whether U.S. firms were harmed and whether the rule breaches trade commitments. - Enforcement and remedies: If the report finds discrimination the bill would let USTR pursue World Trade Organization disputes, section 301 investigations under the Trade Act of 1974, U.S.–Korea Free Trade Agreement disputes, or negotiate agreements to mitigate harm to U.S. entities. - U.S.–Republic of Korea partnership: A formal sense of Congress stresses the deep security and economic ties, notes about 30,000 U.S. personnel stationed in South Korea, and warns that aggressive actions like office raids could damage the alliance while urging fair, non‑discriminatory regulation.
