**Denies federal funds to state or local "sanctuary" jurisdictions that prohibit sharing immigration-status information or ignore Department of Homeland Security detainer requests.** The bill would also require the Department of Homeland Security to report annually to congressional judiciary committees and includes a narrow exception for officials who withhold information to protect a crime victim or witness. - Families and people unlawfully present: Would make jurisdictions ineligible for federal funds used to benefit people unlawfully present, including food, shelter, health care, legal services, and transportation. - State and local governments: Would face loss of federal funding for programs that assist unlawfully present individuals unless they share immigration-status information and comply with detainer requests. Funding restrictions would begin on the earlier of 60 days after enactment or the first day of the next fiscal year. - Department of Homeland Security and Congress: The Secretary of Homeland Security would have to submit a report to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees within one year and then annually listing jurisdictions that failed to comply.
