**Shrubland wildfire mitigation** is the focus. This bill would require the Forest Service to study which fuels treatments and policies best reduce wildfire risk and ember ignitions in dry shrub ecosystems. - Families and communities near shrublands would get clearer, research-based guidance on reducing ember-related vulnerabilities to homes, roadways, and other structures. - Wildland fire managers and the Forest Service would get an evaluation of hazardous fuels management, ember-prevention protocols, and the weather, season, and terrain conditions that affect each method. The study must be completed within one year and the report released within 90 days of completion. - Federal agencies, non-Federal partners, and land managers would be asked to coordinate and share expertise so best practices and barriers to implementation are identified for future policy and operational decisions.
