## Summary

**Stops Lake Okeechobee discharges when microcystin levels exceed EPA recreational limits.** This bill would require the Secretary of the Army, acting through the Chief of Engineers, to prohibit water releases from Lake Okeechobee through the S-308 and S-80 lock and dam structures whenever test results show microcystin concentrations above the Environmental Protection Agency’s recommended maximum for recreational waters in 84 Fed. Reg. 26413 or any successor criteria. Tests may be conducted by the Secretary, another federal agency, or the State of Florida.
