## Summary

**Creates a Comprehensive School-Based Violence Prevention Program** to fund and evaluate trauma-informed, culturally competent violence-prevention services for youth at highest risk of gun violence. The program awards 5-year grants to partnerships that connect schools, community nonprofits, and state or local education agencies to reduce violence and support healing. - Students and families: Funds school-based programs serving K–12 students and youth under age 19 that use evidence-based, culturally competent, trauma-informed approaches to promote healing, social and emotional skills, and connections to mental health professionals. - Schools and local partners: Grants go to partnerships including a State educational agency and local educational agencies in high-violence communities, and specifically may include schools funded by the Bureau of Indian Education. Each grant lasts five years and may be renewed. - Evaluation and community learning: Requires data collection with outcomes disaggregated by student subgroups, regular reports to Congress, and allows grantees to use up to 20 percent of funds for evaluation while the Secretary may reserve up to 5 percent for independent research. Grants must be distributed equitably across U.S. regions. *Authorizes $25.0 million per year for fiscal years 2025 through 2031, increasing federal spending by that amount if appropriated.*
