## Summary

**Visible identification for DHS law enforcement during detentions or arrests.** This bill would require Department of Homeland Security officers and agents working on border security or immigration enforcement to provide the detained person with the component that employs them and to wear or display official insignia or uniform in a way that others can see. It would also bar officers from wearing face coverings that conceal the face during detentions or arrests. - Covers Department of Homeland Security law enforcement officers and agents engaged in border security or immigration enforcement, and explicitly includes U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel. - Would require an initial report on policies for tactical gear usage within 30 days after enactment and updates within 30 days after any change, submitted to specified House and Senate committees. - Authorizes the Under Secretary for Science and Technology to develop technology and practices to maximize insignia or uniform visibility across locations, times of day, and weather, and says the section does not limit tactical gear when allowed by Department policies.
