## Summary

**Would delist the Mexican wolf from the Endangered Species Act.** The bill would also nullify specific U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service rules and bar using Mexico’s recovery status when making future U.S. listing or recovery decisions. - Farmers and ranchers near the Mexican Wolf Experimental Population Area: the bill would remove federal ESA protections for the Mexican wolf. The bill cites at least 286 wild and about 350 captive Mexican wolves documented by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service by the end of 2024 and cites livestock losses and financial burdens on nearby producers. - Federal wildlife management: the bill would nullify two USFWS final rules published in 2015 and 2022, removing those regulatory frameworks that governed the wolf’s listing and the nonessential experimental population. - Future U.S. listings and plans: the bill would prohibit the Interior Secretary and USFWS from considering the wolf’s recovery status in Mexico when writing recovery plans or when changing the wolf’s listing status in the United States.
