## Summary

**Blocks covered foreign countries from buying or leasing property near sensitive U.S. sites.** This bill would add a provision to Section 721 of the Defense Production Act that forbids China, Iran, North Korea, Russia, and entities acting on their behalf from purchasing, leasing, or receiving concessions on property within 10 miles of airports, seaports, U.S. military installations, and other government sites the Committee deems sensitive. - Covered foreign governments and their proxies would be barred from acquiring property within 10 miles of listed sensitive sites. The ban covers purchases, leases, and concessions made on or after enactment. - Owners of public or private land near airports, ports, and military bases could no longer sell or lease to those covered parties, narrowing the pool of eligible buyers for some parcels. - The Committee implementing Section 721 would be able to add more locations to the "sensitive site" list if they could give foreign actors intelligence access or increase surveillance risk, and must notify Congress of any violations or attempted violations.
