- New $2,500 fees for workers and employers: cost, high. If enacted, both the applicant and the petitioning employer would have to pay a fee to use this program. The fee would be at least $2,500 per person, and could be higher if the Labor Department sets a higher amount. This fee rule would apply only during the three-year covered period after enactment.
