## Summary

**Limits who can operate corporate political action committees to 501(c) nonprofit corporations.** This bill would amend the Federal Election Campaign Act to allow only corporations described in section 501(c) and exempt under 501(a) to establish and run separate segregated funds for political contributions, while narrowing who may solicit donations and requiring some existing funds to close within a year. - For-profit corporations would no longer be allowed to establish or operate separate segregated funds under FECA. - Only executive and administrative personnel may be solicited for contributions, removing stockholders and their families from solicitation rules. - Existing separate segregated funds that do not qualify as the bill's defined nonprofit corporations must terminate and disburse their entire balances within one year of enactment.

## Provisions PRIA read

- Limits corporate political fundraising and solicitations: cost, medium. If enacted, this bill would let only tax-exempt nonprofit corporations form or run separate segregated funds (SSFs). It would define "nonprofit corporation" as a 501(c) organization that is exempt under section 501(a), except where creating an SSF would make the entity ineligible for that exemption…
