## Summary

**Would create a federal crime for unauthorized entry onto Department of Defense property.** It would apply when people go onto any property under Department of Defense jurisdiction that has been clearly marked as closed or restricted. - Individuals who enter clearly marked DoD sites without authorization could face fines or jail for a first offense, punishable by up to 180 days. - Repeat trespassers face escalated prison terms of up to 3 years for a second offense and up to 10 years for a third or subsequent offense. - The Department of Defense would have a new federal statute to use when responding to unauthorized access at its marked facilities.
