## Summary

**This bill would require an annual, congressionally directed _report on food security and diet quality_ that focuses on how changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program affect nutrition outcomes.** - Families and SNAP participants would get a yearly analysis of food security and diet quality for participants and nonparticipants, plus policy recommendations aimed at improving nutrition outcomes. - Policymakers would receive an annual summary of legislative and executive changes to SNAP and an analysis of how those changes affect food security and diet quality for different groups. - The Secretary of Agriculture would be required to deliver the first report within 1 year after the new section takes effect, with that section taking effect 180 days after enactment, and then submit reports annually thereafter.

## Provisions PRIA read

- SNAP changes would start after 6 months: mixed, low. If enacted, this bill would delay its start for 180 days after enactment. That includes the new Agriculture Department report on food security and SNAP. SNAP households would not see any effects from this bill before that date. The timing change alone would not change benefit amounts or eligibility.
