## Summary

**Congressional oversight of domestic reserve deployments.** This bill would require new reports and briefings to Congress after the domestic use of reserve-component forces or the National Guard. - The President would have 15 days to submit a report to Congress after deploying reserve-component members domestically. The report must state the precise legal basis, goals, and any evidence supporting the President's assessment. - The Chief of the National Guard Bureau would brief Congress on whether the deployment reduced violence and met the President's stated goals. - State and local law enforcement reports must be included describing interactions between service members and civilians and the extent of actual violence or threats. - Reports must identify the total cost to the Federal Government of the deployment, including any indirect costs borne by the Department of Defense and civilians called up to serve in the National Guard. - Uses of forces under a presidential declaration pursuant to the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act for natural disasters or weather-related events would be exempt from these reporting rules.
