## Summary

**Standardize K-12 sexual abuse prevention.** This bill would require every state that gets federal education funds to make local districts adopt clear codes of conduct and provide sexual abuse awareness and Title IX training to school staff and students. - Students and families: Local rules would define acceptable and unacceptable staff‑student and student‑student behavior so families and students have clearer expectations and routes for reporting abuse. - School personnel: Educators and other staff would be required to receive training on the new codes of conduct, Federal and State child abuse reporting rules, Title IX protections, and sexual abuse prevention and awareness. - State education agencies and local educational agencies: The bill would allow existing Elementary and Secondary Education Act funding streams to pay for the training by adding the activity to state assessment grants, Title I activities, local uses of funds, and Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) grants. The policy would take effect two years after enactment. - Federal oversight: The Secretary of Education would study incidence of abuse by other students and by school personnel and report findings and prevention recommendations to Congress within one year.
