## Summary

**Would require the Comptroller General to assess whether mergers and acquisitions among defense contractors harm competition and the defense industrial base.** The review would look at deals from the ten years before enactment and must evaluate four things: how merger remedies affect competition and industrial-base sustainability; how the Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Secretary of Defense share information during merger reviews; how the Secretary of Defense measures vertical integration including data collection and access from contractors; and how prior Comptroller General, Defense Department, or Defense Science Board recommendations to boost competition have been implemented. The Comptroller General would send the report to the congressional defense committees.
