## Summary

**Tighter ethics and transparency for the President, Vice President, and top officials.** This bill would ban personal business ties for the President and Vice President, require twice-yearly financial filings for covered officials, expand reporting to many relatives, and bar using gifts tied to Presidential duties. - Presidents and Vice Presidents would have to divest any for-profit financial interest within 30 days of assuming office and could not use their name or likeness for profit. They also could not serve in decision-making roles at for-profit entities. - Families and relatives would face expanded disclosure. Reports must include detailed information about a long list of relatives, including spouses, parents, children, siblings, in-laws, and first cousins, and spouses and dependent children could not profit from the official's name or likeness. - Federal officers and Cabinet members covered by the law would file biannual reports starting in 2026, with filings due October 15 and May 15 for the two 6-month periods. The reports would contain the same categories of information already required for annual filings, applied to each 6-month period. - Federal agencies would be barred from allowing tangible gifts given for Presidential duties to be used and would be required to promptly dispose of such gifts under agency rules.
