## Summary

**Requires public notice and hearings before closing or consolidating contract postal units.** The bill would require the Postal Service to post on its public website an impact report explaining effects on customers and steps to maintain access, send Congress a report with the reasons for the closure or consolidation, hold a public hearing that may be attended in person or virtually, publish a hearing summary within 7 days that lists comments and the percentage that supported or opposed the action, and wait 180 days after that summary before closing or consolidating the contract postal unit.
