## Summary

**Ends dual presidential appointments for senior Federal Reserve officials to protect Fed independence.** This bill would bar certain top Fed officials from holding any other office for which they were appointed by the President, including while on leave. - Board members would be prohibited from simultaneously holding any other presidentially appointed office or employment. The bill preserves the current compensation rules for those Board members. - Presidents of Federal Reserve Banks and the First Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York would face the same ban on holding other presidentially appointed positions, including during leaves. - Any individual serving in a covered role who becomes ineligible under these rules would be terminated effective on enactment.
