## Summary

**Expand veterans' access to eyeglass fittings through non-VA care.** This bill would add "services, fittings for eyeglass lenses" to the list of medical services that may be furnished to veterans under the Veterans Community Care Program (VCCP). It would make eyeglass lens fittings a reimbursable service from non-VA providers when care is authorized under 38 U.S.C. 1703, and direct the VA to set rules so eligible veterans can schedule fittings with providers that are geographically proximate. - Veterans and families: Eligible veterans could obtain and have eyeglass lens fittings furnished and reimbursed through the VCCP by nearby non-VA eye care providers, improving local access to vision care. - VA operations: The Secretary of Veterans Affairs must establish policies, procedures, and regulations to implement the change and ensure appointments are geographically proximate. - Oversight: The VA must report to Congress within 180 days after enactment on implementation status, challenges, mitigation strategies, and benefits to veterans.

## Provisions PRIA read

- More eyeglass fittings for veterans: benefit, low. If you are a veteran eligible for community care, VA will cover fittings for eyeglass lenses by non-VA providers. The VA must set rules so you can schedule a fitting with a nearby provider. The VA Secretary must make regulations and procedures to carry out the change. The VA must report to Congress…
