## Summary

**Expands expedited removal for criminal aliens.** The bill would let the Department of Homeland Security use expedited removal for aliens convicted of a wide range of felonies, certain serious misdemeanors, and those linked to gangs, transnational criminal organizations, or designated terrorist groups. - Families and children: The bill defines a “vulnerable group” to include people younger than 16, pregnant people, those with severe disabilities, and people over 65. It makes aliens convicted of listed crimes, including offenses against children, ineligible for asylum and other immigration relief. - Noncitizen defendants: Aliens convicted of any felony or specified misdemeanors would be subject to expanded detention rules and special removal proceedings designed to move cases quickly after a sentence. - Immigration enforcement and definitions: The bill shifts certain references from the Attorney General to the Secretary of Homeland Security, broadens the legal definition of criminal gangs and transnational criminal organizations, and directs DHS to issue notices and initiate removal under the updated rules.
