## Summary

**Protects students' enrollment status during federal student aid disruptions.** It would require institutions that participate in Title IV programs to refrain from terminating or changing a student's enrollment status when a lapse in appropriations interrupts federal student financial aid. - Students and families: Students would keep their enrollment status during interruptions to Title IV aid, lowering the risk of being dropped from classes or losing campus services while payments are delayed. - Colleges and universities: Institutions participating in Title IV programs would be prohibited from altering or terminating a student's enrollment because of an interruption in federal aid for the duration of that disruption. - Administrative: The bill also establishes the short title "Guaranteeing Retention and Aid During Shutdowns Act" or the "GRAD Act."
