## Summary

**Provides continuing funding for the U.S. Capitol Police during FY2026 funding gaps.** The bill would authorize Treasury funds to pay salaries, overtime, hazardous duty pay, health and retirement contributions, professional liability insurance, tuition reimbursement, recruitment and retention bonuses, other benefits, and contractor payments for officers and supporting civilian staff the Chief of the Capitol Police designates as excepted or performing emergency work. The authority would begin October 1, 2025 and end on the earlier of enactment of FY2026 appropriations for the Capitol Police or the legislative branch, or September 30, 2026, and payments for the period before enactment would be provided as soon as practicable after enactment.
