## Summary

**Expand federal research into health effects on descendants of toxic-exposed veterans.** This bill would direct the Interagency Working Group on Toxic Exposure to create interagency task forces, increase reporting and transparency, and require a focused study of Operation Ranch Hand descendants. - Families and descendants: Would fund coordinated research on diagnosing and treating health conditions in biological descendants of toxic-exposed veterans. The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and the Working Group must review data to rate how strongly specific exposures link to health conditions. - Operation Ranch Hand descendants: Would require a voluntary, targeted study of Ranch Hand veterans' biological descendants to measure birth defects and developmental delays, identify protective genetic markers, determine causes and outcomes, and recommend prevention. Data collection would include biological samples, health records, surveys, statistical models, and genomic analysis. - Federal agencies and transparency: Would establish Federal interagency task forces to coordinate descendant-focused research, maintain a public website with findings and evidence reviews, and deliver an initial report within 1 year plus annual progress reports across the 5-year strategic plan.
