**Digitizing aviation supply-chain records** to make counterfeit parts and fake paperwork easier to spot. - Manufacturers and repair stations will get a focused review of the barriers they face when switching to digital authorized release certificates, including FAA Form 8130-3, and using digital authentication tools. - Parts brokers, aircraft lessors, aircraft brokers, and air carriers will see an industry-wide assessment of how standardized digital documentation could help detect falsified documentation and counterfeit parts. - The Government Accountability Office (GAO) must deliver a report within one year with recommendations on adoption and FAA modernization, and the Secretary of Transportation must respond to recommendations directed at the Department within 120 days.
