## Summary

**Counts SROTC time toward an officer's total military service.** This bill would change how length of service is calculated for people appointed as officers after satisfactorily completing the Senior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (SROTC). - Officers commissioned through SROTC would have their advanced SROTC training counted when computing their length of service. This applies to any individual appointed on the basis of completing the SROTC program. - Service-credit rules would be clarified for prior enlisted and reserve service. Time served as a member of the Selected Reserve on August 1, 1979 would count toward length of service, and enlisted service performed before the bill's enactment would count regardless of the component in which it was performed.
