## Summary

**Permanent DSH allotment for Tennessee**: This bill would create a permanent federal Disproportionate Share Hospital allotment for Tennessee starting in fiscal year 2026 and tie yearly increases to the consumer price index for all urban consumers (CPI-U). - Tennessee hospitals would get a dedicated DSH allotment beginning in fiscal year 2026. The FY2026 amount equals Tennessee's DSH allotment for fiscal year 2015. - That 2026 baseline would increase each subsequent year by the percentage change in the CPI-U (all items; U.S. city average). - For years after 2026 Tennessee would be treated as a low DSH state when calculating future allotment increases and would follow the same low-DSH state rules other states use.
