## Summary

**Expands eligibility for catastrophic plans.** This bill would tie catastrophic plan eligibility to whether someone is expected to be ineligible for the premium tax credit or for reduced cost-sharing for the same plan year because of household income. That aligns the catastrophic eligibility test with plan-year income expectations and could let people who expect to lack tax credits or cost reductions choose catastrophic coverage. The change would apply to plan years beginning six months after enactment.
