## Summary

**Standardized annual reporting of bank and credit union charter applications.** This bill would require federal banking agencies to publish yearly reports that list application counts, mean and median approval times, and, when practicable, common reasons for denial or withdrawal. It sets five agency-specific reports and one joint report covering State-chartered institutions, with defined terms and a State-by-State breakdown to aid comparison. - Prospective banks and credit unions would see clearer timelines and reasons for decisions because reports must show counts and mean and median times to preliminary and final approval where applicable. - Federal and State regulators would produce a joint annual State report published by the Federal Reserve, the FDIC, and the National Credit Union Administration in consultation with State regulators to provide State-specific approval counts and times. - Researchers, investors, and the public would gain consistent, comparable data across national, Federal, and State chartering processes to spot bottlenecks and compare jurisdictions.
