**Recognizes extreme heat as a qualifying disaster for federal transportation emergency relief.** It would also require a federal study and a best-practice report to help states and operators track and repair heat-related damage. - State departments of transportation, public transit systems, Amtrak, and freight rail systems could access Emergency Relief funding for damage caused by extreme heat, though the bill excludes funding for bridges whose deterioration was substantially caused by long-term heat exposure. - Aims to reduce disruptions for commuters and supply chains by addressing strain on aging bridges.
