## Summary

**Uses speed-camera fines to fund National Park highways and camera upkeep.** This bill would let the Secretary of the Interior authorize automated speed safety cameras on highways inside National Park units and allow those cameras to trigger civil citations after notice and an opportunity for a hearing. - Drivers and visitors: Drivers on covered park highways could receive automated citations for traffic violations and would have a chance for an on-the-record hearing before a civil penalty is assessed. - National Park units: Park units could collect and spend citation revenues without a later appropriation to fund construction and maintenance of park highways and parking facilities and to install, repair, and maintain speed safety cameras. - Contractors and vendors: The Secretary could enter contracts with private firms to install, repair, maintain, or replace speed safety cameras, creating procurement opportunities for vendors. - States: Use of speed safety cameras is limited to compliance with the law of the State where the covered highway is located, so state traffic rules would govern camera operation.
