## Summary

**Preemption of citizenship-based restrictions on buying real property.** This bill would stop any State, District of Columbia, or territorial law that bars or limits a person's ability to purchase real property because of their citizenship. - People denied the chance to buy property because of their citizenship could bring civil suits in federal court and seek injunctive relief. - States, the District, and territories would no longer be able to enforce laws that prohibit or restrict property purchases based on citizenship and could face federal court orders stopping enforcement. - The Attorney General would have authority to enforce the preemption at the federal level alongside the private right of action.
