## Summary

**Assess and diplomatically counter risks from foreign adversaries' use of generative AI.** This bill would require the State Department to evaluate how adversaries use generative artificial intelligence for malicious activity and to lead diplomatic steps to reduce those threats. - Families and citizens would get public, unclassified analysis of incidents that target U.S. people and communities, including synthetic media, foreign influence operations, and AI-enabled cyber or weapons-related threats. - U.S. diplomacy and allies would be the focus of bilateral and multilateral engagement and efforts to promote responsible state behavior and international norms around generative AI. - Congress and oversight bodies would receive reports to the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee within 180 days and then annually for 3 years. - Transparency and intelligence needs are balanced by a public posting requirement for the unclassified assessment and permission for a classified annex to protect sources and methods.
