## Summary

**Bars people with final convictions for crimes of violence from federal employment and federal contracting.** This bill would add a new civil service provision and a contracting prohibition that prevent anyone finally convicted of a violent crime from holding federal jobs or serving in roles that control federal contracts. - People finally convicted of crimes of violence would be ineligible to accept or hold any federal civil service position. If a conviction becomes final while someone is employed, they would be removed from their civil service job. - Federal agencies would have to include a contract clause barring covered individuals and could not enter into contracts with those individuals or with entities they control. The Office of Management and Budget could grant a waiver if ending the contract would impose a unique or undue burden on the government. - Businesses would be barred from federal contracts if an officer, director, or controlling owner is a covered individual. The bill would apply to contracts entered before, on, or after enactment and would require updates to the Federal Acquisition Regulation within six months to implement the rule.
