## Summary

**New $45.0 billion Byrne/JAG appropriation.** This bill would also reorganize the COPS Hiring Program, shift oversight to the Attorney General, extend certain grant authority to September 30, 2030, and add waivers for very small local and Tribal forces. - Law enforcement agencies would apply under a rebranded COPS Hiring Program managed by the Attorney General instead of the Department of Homeland Security official previously named.
