## Summary

**Establishes the Driftless Area Landscape Conservation Initiative to reduce erosion and restore cold-water stream corridors while promoting climate-smart agriculture and carbon sequestration.** It would support soil health, prairie and woodland restoration, and streambank improvements across the Driftless Area through federal help to producers and grassroots partnerships. - Farmers and landowners would receive financial and technical help to keep year-round ground cover, rebuild soil, sequester carbon, and reduce erosion. - Cold-water streams and trout habitat would be targeted for streambank stabilization and flood-risk reduction to improve aquatic habitat. - Grassroots partnerships would get support to educate landowners on soil health and holistic grazing and to expand prairie, savanna, and grassland restoration. - The initiative would fund easement payments and other assistance and is authorized at $5.0 million per year for each fiscal year 2027 through 2031. *Would increase federal spending by $25.0 million over 2027–2031, with $5.0 million authorized annually.*
