## Summary

**Standardize Form 5500 filing deadlines** and modernize how retirement plans submit and sign annual reports by allowing electronic filings and a later, fixed deadline. - Plan administrators and sponsors would file Form 5500 and furnish required information to participants and certain employers by 15 days after the end of the 9th calendar month following a plan year. The Secretary could grant extra time if a plan is affected by a disaster or fire. - Participants and certain employers would receive plan reports and notices on that later, uniform schedule, which could delay when they see annual plan information. - The Treasury Department, the Department of Labor, and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation would align regulations and issue implementing guidance. The bill would permit electronic signatures and submissions and includes a good-faith compliance rule until agencies update systems. It would apply to plan years ending on or after enactment.
