## Summary

**Creates a single, up-to-date federal list of critical minerals and materials.** It harmonizes which minerals and materials federal programs call critical and sets firm 45-day deadlines for publishing and updating that consolidated List. - Federal departments and agencies that use the section's definitions must rely on the most recently published Critical Minerals and Materials List for programs that involve those minerals or materials. - The Secretary and the Secretary of Energy must publish a consolidated List within 45 days of enactment that includes every critical mineral designated under the statute and any non-fuel mineral, element, substance, or material the Department of Energy had marked as critical as of enactment. They must update the List within 45 days after any new designation changes. - The law expands the scope of designations by changing the descriptor to minerals or materials, allowing a broader set of non-fuel items to be listed as critical.
