## Summary

**Expands and scales federal support for the Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program (GusNIP).** It also creates a Produce Prescription Program to test delivering fruit and vegetable benefits through clinical care and to study health and cost impacts. - Low-income families and clinic patients may get more incentives and targeted produce prescriptions aimed at increasing fruit and vegetable consumption, reducing food insecurity, and lowering health care use. Expansion grants must serve at least 300 patients and last at least 12 months. - Independent retailers and farmers markets get priority in new cooperative agreements that require at least a 4-year duration and that at least 90% of funds be spent on redeemed incentives before an agreement ends. - Federal cost-sharing for incentives is generally capped at 50% with a waiver for persistent poverty areas. Cooperative agreements are structured to scale statewide programs and are limited to entities that previously received a grant. *This bill authorizes new federal funding of roughly $57.5 million per year for 2027–2031, $56.0 million per year from 2032 onward, plus $12.0 million per year for 2027–2031 for specified purposes, increasing federal spending.*
