## Summary

**Sexual exploitation of protected adults.** This bill would create a new federal crime for using the mail or any facility or means of interstate or foreign commerce to knowingly persuade, induce, entice, or coerce a protected adult to send or transmit an intimate visual depiction with the intent to harm. A protected adult is anyone 18 or older who cannot protect themselves because of specified disabilities such as autism, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, dementia, or schizophrenia, defined by current DSM or ICD standards. "Harm" includes physical, psychological, financial, or reputational injury. Penalties are fines or up to 1 year in prison for a first offense and fines or up to 2 years for repeat offenses.
